About Us

Quails was created in 1971 as the fashion and contemporary division of menswear retailer, Archie Jacobson. The concept was to design the newest men’s dress clothing for the contemporary market.

Quails first location was in Woodbridge Center in central New Jersey. We expanded to Pennsylvania, Connecticut and were the regional powerhouse for menswear in New Jersey. In 2001 Quails was purchased by international retailer, Sarar. The original Quails ownership felt the need to buy the company back so they could provide a collection of clothing for the American market.  Quails ownership then partnered with Portabella in 2004 to become one of the largest independent menswear retailers in the United States.

We create our own line of private label suits, tuxedos, dress furnishings and casualwear. Our buyers source throughout the world with a focus on European clothing produced in Turkey providing you with the best suit and tuxedos in the market. Quails currently has brick and mortar locations on Long Island and in New York City, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Now, the most current designs are available for sale online.
